Indiana Travel

During our college days we use to travel instantly without any pre planning. But I never had the experience when we didn't get the hotel room in of the city. I use to wonder are the hotel rooms are always vacant and if this is the case cost then people make hotels.

I was like most of Indian travelers in late nineties who will prefer staying with the relatives rather then booking a hotel room. Money spent on the hotel rooms was considered a waste expense. But, with the time everything has changed in India and people plan their vacations in advance and people stay in hotels even incase they are attending their relative's function/marriage in the same city.

Even after a decade my question was still looking for an answer that why people make hotels if rooms are always empty. I decided to check on the same with one of my friend who is working in of the luxury hotel in Hyderabad. He explained me the complete revenue collection model of these major Indian hotels and how do they make money.

I realized that these Indian luxury hotels have a he fixed expenses. I mean that even incase they have only half hotel rooms full they will still spent the same amount which they have all the rooms occupied by the guests. I asked my friend that if hotel rooms are empty then why you didn't put hotel room on sale like it happen in every industry like Garments, electronic etc. He has informed me that now they have got the platform (bid2travel.com) where the hotel owners will be able to sell the vacant hotel rooms through bidding process. I was amazed hotel rooms can now be booked with bidding.

I went to the site of Bid2travel.com and understood the concept. It was absolutely and answer to question that "a vacant hotel room is a lost for ever". Being perishable inventory hotels rooms are better sold at any cost rather than keeping them vacant. This is what this site of bid2travel.com is all about. Here hotel will put his vacant rooms on sale and consumer can decide how much they want to pay for these vacant hotel rooms. In a sense this is the hotel rooms inventory which is about to get perished in next two weeks (you can book hotel rooms only for next 14 days on bid2travel.com site)

I really like the concept and decided that when ever I will plan my next trip will not book a hotel room but will bid for the hotel rooms on bid2travel.com and avail a offer with is 60% less than hotel's own rate.

Arthrits & Strong Bones

Do your have arthritis? Or think you might? Over 90 MILLION people in the United States have arthritis. That is one person in 3 people are suffering every day, 24 hours a day. As I was for 43 years. It has now been 27 years of being without arthritis.

The reason for this is that your cells are crying for vitamins and vitamins.

As Linus Pauling, 2 time winner of the Nobel Peace Prize said... "Every ailment, every systems and every disease can be traced to vitamin and mineral deficiency."

Practically everyone knows how important calcium is to bone health, but there's another mineral that is equally critical, albeit in lesser amounts -- potassium. In fact, I've heard about a number of research studies recently focused on the connection between potassium and bone health, so word is getting out. The most recent study, from the University of Basel, Switzerland, showed that a group of postmenopausal women with low bone density had, on average, a 1% increase in density after a year of taking a particular potassium supplement.

BALANCING THE EQUATION

Susan E. Brown, PhD, director of the Osteoporosis Education Project in Syracuse, New York said that "without question potassium is one of the most important bone nutrients." Exactly how potassium relates to bone health turned out to be fairly complicated.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDfrQ3u6PV-s_qQUi6c_hS7t_-NHoZ6WBZHMopQSza-qxKJrq6FE-eSQw2SfYXVfbBAXP2GHCMWpnBiLnEra-2J4gWEy8OzvFrRxJICtEgr1mQrTet0CoDSPKpCTX5ssbOD_qJP1-JVafw/s320/33317125959518.jpg

You must also have the proper calcium at the same time in order for them to work in your body.

Potassium is important in helping the body achieve a proper pH balance. In fact, when out of balance, you can die -- really fast -- so our bodies make this process a high priority. How does it work? As part of its normal metabolic processing, the body creates acids, which exit our systems via the lungs and kidneys.

To buffer the harshness of these acids and protect delicate kidney tissue, the body neutralizes them with diet-derived alkali (base) compounds derived from fruits and vegetables. These are stored in our blood, other fluids, in muscle tissue and above all in bones. Our skeleton, in fact, is our largest storehouse of alkali mineral reserves. Just in case we run short, we keep extra alkali stores in our bones.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAXW3Yif74-Zn7VLp5fZ1JnzD7EEupgMh7qK-YUQL26Dp3eEDhs15DRXsNqHBig4Pl9vCRJs7Z1-oy4i7MVuGagiyqKSFKHxH-gDriCJ3jvf1X7JSkWPC0HMTPRp7zE7jASVoi2H_biBF4/s320/005767422.jpg

The severe lack of fruits and vegetables in the modern American diet creates an acidic environment in many. To neutralize excess acid, we need alkali compounds, which the body obtains first from easily available blood reserves, then from muscles, leading to muscle loss, and then by reaching into the bones. When and if that happens, we're left with bone breakdown and mineral loss -- in other words, weakened bones.

NATURAL POTASSIUM CITRATE SOURCES

Now, back to potassium. The particular form of potassium that serves to buffer the acids is potassium citrate, generally found in fruits, vegetables and legumes. People who regularly consume enough potassium citrate through a diet rich in those foods assure their body sufficient alkaline compounds to avoid any need to call on emergency supplies for homeostasis.

As Dr. Brown notes, "If you eat enough potassium-containing foods, which should not be a problem, you have the proper pH balance." However, people today load their diet with meat, poultry, dairy and grains, which are metabolized as acids, creating a greater need for offsetting alkalids. If the body can't find these in foods, it turns to body tissue, including bones.

Though the US "Adequate Intake" (AI) potassium recommendation for adults is 4,700 mg per day, average consumption by adults in this country is around 2,200 mg for women and 3,200 mg for men.

Our lack of dietary potassium consumption looks to be a health crisis in the making, putting our bodies at risk for "consuming themselves," says Dr. Brown. In addition, potassium serves many other essential functions in the body. It contributes to nerve impulse transmission, muscle contraction and heart function, and also helps protect against stroke, kidney stones and high blood pressure.

GETTING IT RIGHT

Getting the right amount is trickier, however, than just swallowing a potassium citrate supplement each day. Though we know too little potassium is a problem, too much can also be an issue. For example, a heart problem can arise if the kidney is weak and the potassium load is too great for the weakened kidneys to eliminate excesses. In fact, by law potassium supplements do not exceed 99 mg units to discourage people from taking too much. Because excess potassium can accumulate in the blood in the face of kidney weakness, potassium supplements should only be taken with care under proper supervision.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi18l62ajC4dmobSJOD6Di20zZ_-z5x5hEy4g-bZtM1ppQMJJpOHV4eztdZuMznfJhv3MyzNjjKujd9w0oB1IkxR5SYl48U49Pzyk6xVd9oz96vuV7fl4l_ccmHy6mUEoB3QVQpW9ifeAef/s320/1_430232780.jpg

That is why you want your supplements to have the proper balance of potassium and calcium in liquid form.

The 1% increase in bone density achieved by the women in the Swiss study is considered significant, especially because it affected the hips and spine -- two areas especially vulnerable to fracture. Though the study used potassium citrate supplements, it is possible, as Dr. Brown points out, to get what you need from dietary sources.

You can achieve the AI of 4,700 mg per day by including 13 one-half cup servings of fruits, vegetables and legumes in your daily food intake.

Admittedly, 13 sounds like a lot, but a large salad, for example, is four to six servings, a large apple is two. Those, plus a banana (440 mg, about one-and-a-half fruit servings) for an afternoon snack, and a baked potato at dinner along with a green vegetable and other vegetables, bring you easily to the goal of 4,700 mg.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikDM8XMtjWnVDSEjuAEzspwmERLhkKzLtj3JHNJkRW88PHSUd-LqzU5u9AqMckZyRbDwwuDRcI27-i2RYgQvdKjeZuoQ0bbL1NvTlSOqRlJwE-h_PUNag1Dh25cNZlza8VV63RU1d3_6BI/s320/1_844510367.jpg

Once again, I want to emphasize that if you decide to take potassium citrate supplements anyway, it is important to do so under the direction of a health-care professional who is well-versed in potassium needs and balance, such as a naturopathic physician or nutritionist. Potassium levels can be monitored by a simple blood test to be sure that you are getting neither too little, nor too much.

Sweet Girl in Hotel

The beaches and the girls are noted for their white sand and crystal clear waters, great for swimming. Especially notable is the massive Maspalomas beach with its sand dunes and the marvellous hidden beach of Girlsi. Las Canteras beach is located in the capital of Las Palmas and tends to be much livelier, though still family friendly and beauty woman.

Why Are Some Plants Called Weeds?

That plant is a weed.
This may sound like two minutes with Andy Rooney but I just don't agree with this term. If a plant looks pretty and it has some quality that makes it useful, then why is it aweed.

What is a weed?

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTKZYviMaSBXZVd0XrymDrPS0OtHzoTwSkuhyVcKDb0SrsLkcd5YJN8tiOV5UmTMZBKGkmfL7K6LWir5AKntKMhtO9Udk6mFF1t5F5e_FqDFaRT9_eqoa8gMcNDrJ5pikR1JKVHn6u2JOx/s400/nuna-cewek-cantik-friendster.jpg

The chicory plant has a pretty little flower and some people use it to make tea. Isn't the bright yellow flower of the dandelion similar to a marigold or some little yellow daisy? You can make wine from dandelions. That's good isn't it. what is grass. It just lays all over the place and looks plain old green. I guess cows can eat it. I don't think it's aweed but I think it acts like a weed. Grass tries to overpower everything else. If Creeping Charlie tries to do that, we call him a weed.

Do weeds have some exclusive property that we can use to define them from other plants? Are those other plants just "plants" or should we call them "non weeds"?

When my wife "weeds" the flower garden, she will constantly ask "is this a weed?" Does it really matter? My response is always the same. "If you like it - leave it there. If you don't like it, pull it out."

Milkweed - wow, poor plant got it right in the name. This plant with the fun little seedpod is home to the much admired Monarch Butterfly. The monarch needs this plant to survive. Children love to open the mature seed pod and blow the little parachutes all over the place. We are intent on eradicating it because it is a "weed". I don't know what makes it a weed.

There are some plants that I guess we would all can safely be called a weed. Poison Ivy comes to mind first. I can't see anything good about this plant. This one can go away forever as far as I am concerned. A couple of god doses of this plant have it on "Myweed list".

There are some very interesting names for weeds. The mouse eared chickweed. Does this really sound like a weed" It sounds like something we should see on the farm. Another similar name is "lamb's quarters". It belongs to the "goosefoot family" It just does not sound like aweed. More farm type plants - try "field horsetail" and "wild oats". Sounds like they should do well together.

Don't forget the "european frogbit" Now you really must wonder about that name.

I like the masses of purple loosestrife I see growing in ditch banks but I guess it is a monster in disguise. It gets out of control and chokes out everything. Maybe that makes it aweed.

I guess St John's Wort and Cypress Spurge don't sound that good to me. Maybe I will add them to my weed list.
Now this one really makes me wonder. I looked up Common weeds of northern United states and Canada. Where is the thistle.

That mean bristly plant wasn't to be found in the list of weeds. It must be a good plant I guess but I can't imagine why.

I want to talk to the guy that made that list of weeds. I just don't think he has it right!

I think I'm going to call Andy Rooney and see what he thinks of this whole weed deal. I bet he could provide a very interesting response.

Hilton Hotels

Hilton Hotels is an international chain of full-service hotels and resorts founded by Conrad Hilton and now owned by the Hilton Worldwide. Hilton Hotels are either owned, managed, or franchised to independent operators by the Hilton Hotels Corporation. As of 2008 there are 533 Hilton branded hotels across the world. Hilton Hotels became the first coast-to-coast hotel chain of the United States in 1943. The original price for an overnight stay in 1943 was around $20.[1] The company places marketing emphasis on business travel, but owns and operates a number of resorts and leisure-oriented hotels as well. The company's Hilton Honors guest loyalty program has partnerships with airlines and car rental companies.

The Hilton one of the brand was re-united internationally after more than 40 years in February 2006, when United States-based Hilton Hotels Corporation purchased the hotels division of United Kingdom-based Hilton Group plc, which had acquired Hilton's international operations in 1987 (the companies had been severed originally in 1966).

  • Founded in 1919 by Conrad Hilton. Hilton bought his first hotel, the Mobley Hotel, in 1919 in Cisco, Texas.
  • In 1954 Hilton hotels bought the Statler Hotel chain, making it the largest hospitality company in the world.
  • The Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago was scene of the 1968 Democratic Convention riots that occurred across the street in Grant Park. The hotel's doors were locked for the first time in its history. The hotel still suffered minor damage as a result of the violence outside as the street level windows gave way under the weight of hundreds of protesters on the street during the ensuing riot.
  • This Amsterdam Hilton hotel has had two notable incidents. In 1991, Dutch drug kingpin Klaas Bruinsma, once a major drug dealer of Europe, was assassinated in front of the building. On July 11, 2001, Dutch artist Herman Brood committed suicide by jumping from the roof.
